Abstract : Git and GitHub are essential tools in modern software development, providing robust solutions for version control and collaboration. Git is a distributed version control system that allows developers to manage changes to code, while GitHub is a platform built on Git that facilitates hosting and collaboration on code repositories [1][3]. This paper explores the fundamentals of Git, GitHub’s role in open-source and enterprise development, security measures, integration with DevOps workflows, and its impact on collaborative software engineering.
